Training the ability to think and concentrate, and training chess tactics are just as important as team spirit and enjoyment of playing. This is rounded off by matches with other schools and clubs.
As a complement to school lessons, this guild offers pupils interested in natural sciences the opportunity to freely experiment. It also offers participation in various chemistry contests such as “Jugend forscht” (Youth Researches). The participants are also welcome to put their own ideas into practice.
Computers are an important tool in all areas at Neubeuern. Many youngsters, however, learn about them by playing games and only reluctantly come to terms with the most popular applications for school and professional life. That is why our IT technician Michael Fees wants to familiarise pupils with the basics of MS Office in four weekend workshops this year.
Since 1999, pupils have been working on creating our comprehensive and representative yearbook. Reports are written, digital photos edited and finally put in with the text into an overall layout. A guild visit to the print shop, and especially the freshly printed new edition, shall be the reward for a busy „yearbook year“.
This club shall impart “a touch of sophistication” beyond the normal horizon. In the rounds of talks in the tower studio, students can discuss any philosophical, natural or sociological issue. Topics are chosen together with the participants.
