Application and enrolment

There are no fixed enrolment times in Schloss Neubeuern. Interested parents and pupils can get into contact with us throughout the whole year, admission is possible at any time, as long as there are places left. Based on the current demand, however, we recommend a forward planning of at least 9 months, especially in years 6 and 7. Places can be very competitive depending on the language of the applicant, since Schloss Neubeuern has a quota system regarding nationalities/language groups.

Mostly the first contact occurs on the phone or via email. After sending our documents, step two follows: a detailed visit to the chateau, including an intensive conversation with the principal and a comprehensive tour through boarding-school and school. Before we can make this appointment, hwoever, we need you to send us all relevant documents concerning your child: a CV, an essay written by your child (Who am I and what do I expect from my time at Schloss Neubeuern?), the reports of the last three years, a letter of recommendation by your child's headmaster or a senior teacher, certifications on special trainings and abilities; also certificates and test results, if necessary.

Ideally, decisions will be clear on both sides right after such a two- to three-hour visit. In this case we will send you our complete enrolment documents, and signing the admission contract makes your child a member of the boarding-school community of Schloss Neubeuern.

But sometimes you need a little more certainty. If your child feels very unsure about whether boarding-school life is the right choice for his or her future, or if we worry about whether the school prerequisites suffice for a successful participation in a demanding Bavarian grammar school, we agree on a test stay of 3 – 7 days during which our teachers can give a prediction and your child has the opportunity to experience live what boarding-school life is all about. Of course these test stays depend on availabilty of places.
