 In choosing to board pupils opt for an extended living space. In our boarding community pupils experience their own limits and those of others and learn the importance of mutual respect and tolerance. Living closely together in the boarding houses is an unfamiliar situation for most of them that can be rather difficult in the beginning. Nobody is alone in settling in however - the other pupils remember their first days and enjoy looking after the new boarders. 10 to 15 pupils of different ages live in a group together with their mentor.
That way they learn almost as a matter of course how to take responsibility for each other, to resolve conflicts and to respect others. The friendships that are formed through this are often life-long. Schloss Neubeuern cannot and does not want to replace family, but rather strives to become a home away from home. Therefore every second weekend our pupils are encouraged to go home. For the boarders' weekends we organize trips and sports afternoons, museum visits and theatre evenings, but also teaching and support sessions. |
