Intercultural motivation and inspiration
Preparing for a shared world
A unique integration model among German boarding schools
The International Department at Schloss Neubeuern is a home away from home for young people from around twenty different countries. It provides them with important emotional support, helping them to better orient themselves in our culture, which is initially foreign to them. With a high level of linguistic competence and empathy, the teaching team at the International Department ensures that students are gradually integrated into everyday school life.
At Schloss Neubeuern, we attach great importance to cosmopolitanism, diversity and the exchange of different cultures. Respect and tolerance are important to us in our interactions – they shape the attitude of our boarding school community for a hopeful future that we are creating together.

Language integration in record time
The path to the Abitur – from guest student to regular student
With a high level of linguistic competence and a great deal of empathy for young people from different cultures, the teaching team in the International Department ensures their integration into everyday school life. As guest students, they initially concentrate on learning the language and then, depending on the development of their German language skills, increasingly participate in regular lessons.
Temporary stays for international pupils
- We can accept pupils from German schools abroad as regular pupils for one year.
- International pupils can complete a (one-year) stay with us as guest pupils for language support.

Intercultural
cooperation
We offer our students plenty of opportunities for intercultural exchange. This starts in the culinary field, as our kitchen loves to try out foreign specialities. For example, we often organise a dinner with an international theme. Our “International Weekend” has become the most popular festival at Schloss Neubeuern and many international student projects take place.
Cosmopolitanism and tolerance are important to us – that’s why it is important to us that all pupils get to know the culture of others.
The entrance ticket
to the
universities
The Bavarian Abitur at Schloss Neubeuern is the door opener and admission ticket to universities in Germany – and the world. We also create the best conditions for our international students.
International highlights
International weekend
Unique - a colourful weekend with an interesting lecture, the international fair with fun presentations from all over the world and culinary specialities that our students cook themselves: from Russian blinis to Indian samosas and Austrian Kaiserschmarrn. And in the evenings, they celebrate together with guests. Great fun for everyone.
Culture talk
The most important thing for us at Schloss Neubeuern is togetherness. And because different cultures are often very different, the Student Council (SMV) team organises occasional evenings where you can talk about the customs of your country and contribute to enriching intercultural coexistence for everyone with your suggestions.
International group tour berlin
The best way to gain an insight into our German culture and history is to visit our capital city, Berlin. That's why our international department organises a four-day trip there once a year. With an interesting guided tour and excursions to places steeped in history, such as the world-famous Brandenburg Gate or the memorial fragments of the Berlin Wall. And, of course, lots of fun.
Student exchange programme
Connected worldwide. At Schloss Neubeuern we are in good contact with countries such as India, Hong Kong, England and Scotland. You can also apply for this 2-3 week exchange to other countries. We will make sure that you find a good connection in your school after your return.
Sushi express
An original tradition: the Neubeur Sushi Express travels on special evenings. Once through the Green Hall - past all the pupils, loaded with delicious freight, the home-made sushi from the cookery guild. The good old Playmobil train was donated by the chef and has been travelling through the hearts of all the pupils ever since. After all, the best way to love is through the stomach.
Regional excursions at the weekend
At the weekends, there are regular excursions to the surrounding area. Together with your friends, you can discover the castles of Bavaria's King Bavaria's King Ludwig, go to the Salzburg Christmas market or experience science and technology live at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
International weekend
Our “International Weekend” is something very special. A colourful get-together where our international pupils are given a stage to present their country and culture – including our pupils from Germany, of course. Every year we look forward to their country-specific dishes, the great musical contributions and the “presentations from around the world”. A warm welcome!
A sense of belonging in a place far from home.
Culture begins in the heart of each individual.
Johann Nestroy
We are happy about our worldwide friendships.
International cuisine
At Schloss Neubeuern we cook our way around the world. Sustainability is important to us. That’s why we always buy regional and seasonal produce. Everything is always freshly cooked in our kitchen and vegetarians also get a varied diet. What’s special about our head chef is that he loves international cuisine and brings the most delicious recipes from all over the world to the menu. He loves to make our international students happy by allowing them to request something from him.
International student exchange
International student exchange
As a special privilege, we offer our students in grades 9-12 a 1- to 4-week exchange programme with international schools. They must apply for this programme, as they will be visiting the partner schools as ‘ambassadors of our boarding school’ and must have the discipline to deepen their knowledge of the subject matter on site.
Back at Schloss Neubeuern, their classmates look forward to a vivid presentation of their stay.
Our exchange schools
We currently work with four partner schools, which offer varying numbers of places for pupils. Accommodation is provided either in boarding schools or with host families:
- German Swiss International School – Hongkong, China
- Colegio Alemán: Deutsche Schule Las Palmas – Gran Canaria, Spanien
- St. Leonards School – Schottland
- Kent College Pembury – England
