May makes everything green

With white peonies, May bugs and a glass of May punch at the reception, our Spring Ball began on 17 May, which was attended by many parents and friends. A total of 218 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening at their tables, decorated like a spring meadow – even if the cold weather prevented us from enjoying the south-facing terrace.
In her welcoming speech, Susanne Schörghuber recalled the long tradition of the dance ball and the many generations that have already danced their way through the halls here. She encouraged the guests to take in the dignified ambience of our palace halls and the beautifully dressed people inside for a moment.

This ball was also set to be an unforgettable experience, and not just for the 14 dancing couples.
To get us in the mood, student Elisabeth Feigenberg and her mother Tatiana Sinelnikova performed the Violin Concerto No. 3 in B flat minor Op. 61, 1st movement by Saint Säens and the Mexican song Estrellita by Manuel Ponce. Between a delicious meal, all the guests gathered in the ballroom to watch the dance course couples make their romantic entrance and perform waltzes, Chah Cha Cha and the Zillertal Wedding March. All the important ballroom dances were easily mastered by the young people. But the most important thing was that both pupils and students really enjoyed the ball, which culminated in a community dance led by mentor Magdalena Freer and only ended at 00.30 – because the dancing was still going strong to slightly more modern sounds.
