Star cuisine with team spirit

On 25 November 2025, the Schloss Neubeuern Business Forum reminded guests of the indispensable value of human interaction in business with the appearance of two-star chef Alexander Herrmann.
Alexander Herrmann is a two-star chef, entrepreneur and one of the most charismatic personalities on the German culinary scene. As the creative mind behind the multi-award-winning Posthotel in Wirsberg, host in top restaurants and public favourite of numerous TV formats, he has carved out an exceptional position for himself between fine dining, media and modern hospitality.

In addition to the journalists present at the press conference, Annalena Starzmann from the TikTok Guild and Luise Liwanetz, who later hosted the evening, were also able to ask him about this remarkable career. There was no sign of celebrity distance here – Alexander Herrmann was very open-minded and met the two with a great deal of attention.

“Schloss Neubeuern is a place where you immediately sense that tradition and the future are not opposites. I was deeply impressed by the energy of the students, their openness and their seriousness about life. Young people are not only educated here, they are moulded – in attitude, character and courage. The Schloss Neubeuern Business Forum creates a space in which real encounters take place: Entrepreneurs, decision-makers and talented individuals engage in dialogue, share experiences and learn from each other. This combination of historical backdrop, modern education and human warmth is extraordinary – and I leave with the feeling that the future is being created here.”

To the press reports
"The Taste" at Neubeuern Castle

For boarding school director Susanne Schörghuber, the meeting was a special reunion – as a passionate amateur chef, she had already been in front of the camera with Alexander Herrmann on the SAT.1 cookery show “Kampf der Köche” 10 years ago. In response to her nervousness at the time, which she described in her opening speech – recorded in a short film – the student chefs’ guild had prepared a suitable challenge for the 2-star chef. In the castle’s own “The Taste”, Alexander Herrmann tested a total of four dishes with the task of guessing their name and country of origin. He didn’t quite succeed, but he was still very impressed by the quality of the pupils’ cuisine, which the guests were later able to enjoy.

Leadership & corporate culture

How leadership really works today – across generations, cultures and hierarchies.
With his presentation, Alexander Herrmann gave the audience a glimpse behind the façade of classic leadership – surprisingly honest, with a cross-generational approach and a clear stance on change and responsibility.
He won over the audience with an absolutely authentic presentation and captivated the students in particular when he first told them about his difficult living conditions – but then repeatedly pointed out that success ultimately only materialises as a positive feeling through shared experience. A human touch plays a major role, especially in our technology-orientated and increasingly fast-moving times. He himself always knows every employee by name – regardless of the size of the company.
Despite great career success and international projects, Alexander Herrmann has always remained true to himself and pays great attention to regionality and seasonality – down-to-earth!

“How do I inspire a team?”
This is one of the questions that Alexander Herrmann answers in his book. At this business forum, you could see, hear and feel in many different ways what team spirit means. Discovering talent – recognising and promoting it – demonstrating a sense of community – and, above all, setting a good example. These are all important principles that play an important role in the value-orientated pedagogy at Schloss Neubeuern and provide the necessary balance to academic education. What use is any progress to people if they do not use it responsibly? There was much discussion about this during the course of the evening – which is how it should be at the Schloss Neubeuern Business Forum, which has now established itself as a recognised platform for important issues from business, science and society.

The students bid farewell to the guests with three home-baked stars “for team spirit” – the highest honour that can be earned in the kitchen and fitting for this once again successful event – all in the spirit of humanity.
