A "journey through time" into the last century

A particular highlight at the beginning of the 2025/26 school year was the masked ball, which was organised by one of our project groups in honour of the anniversary year. Dressed in festive outfits and wearing expressive masks designed by the organising team during the project days of the previous school year, the “guests” – pupils and the mentor team – appeared in the castle’s ballroom after a small champagne reception. The aim of the project team was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the castle in a very special setting and this was a complete success.
The evening represented a musical and dance journey through time, travelling through individual decades of the last century. The castle ensemble kicked off the evening with the rousing piece “Yes Sir, that’s my Baby”. The musical journey began with the elegant and lively 1920s, which were brought back to life with a vocal performance of the Comedian Harmonists’ song “Somewhere in the World” and a slow waltz.
The programme then moved on to the energetic 1950s, which were brought to life by a lively performance of “Rock around the Clock” by the castle ensemble and a soulful interpretation of “Can’t help falling in Love”. In terms of dance, the 50s were represented by a fiery cha-cha-cha.

Atmospheric atmosphere

The journey through time concluded with a look at the diverse and expressive 90s. A musical highlight was the breathtaking interpretation of Andrea Bocelli’s “Time to say Goodbye”. The castle ensemble accompanied this decade with the ‘Macarena’, which immediately encouraged the entire student body to dance along. The dancers ended the stage programme with a groovy discofox.
Embedded in this musical journey through time was a tasty 3-course menu, which was also inspired by the three decades mentioned.
To the great delight of the entire organisation team, the dance couples did not stop at the mere dance performance. The entire student body shook a leg at the end of each item on the programme and let themselves be carried away by the light-footed and atmospheric mood of the evening.
