155th anniversary
21.06.2026
On Sunday 21 June 2026, the week-long celebrations reached their climax with the fire brigade parade, a church service and a flag-consecration ceremony. The anniversary was celebrated with the whole of Neubeuern turning out in force – Neubeuern Castle was also in attendance.
From 18 to 22 June, a beer tapping ceremony, a beer and wine festival and other events took place, all in the spirit of tradition and camaraderie. The festival was held under the patronage of the mayor, Christoph Schneider. On the Sunday of the festival, many other fire brigades from the region took part in the festive church service on the market square. Afterwards, the parade, featuring numerous local clubs, made its way through Neubeuern. Musical accompaniment was provided by the Neubeuern brass band, which once again demonstrated that ‘our Neubeuern’ really is something very special in many ways.
Neubeuern Castle – part of the local community
The fire brigade’s 150th anniversary was originally due to be celebrated, but the coronavirus pandemic prevented this. It was therefore decided to use the unusual number 155, which is now embroidered in gold-coloured thread on the blue anniversary flag. The flag was donated by Neubeuern Castle with the support of the local alumni association and will from now on feature at all celebrations organised by Neubeuern’s local clubs and societies.
This gesture was greatly appreciated by the Neubeuern community. Our ‘Löschgruppe Schloss’ has long since become an indispensable and recognised part of the Neubeuern Volunteer Fire Brigade and fosters a strong bond between the village and the castle community. Thanks to the initiative of this year’s A-level graduate and youth representative of the ‘Löschgruppe Schloss’, Jannick Titz, our castle community decided to donate the flag and take part in the festive parade with a small delegation. With courage and appropriate dignity, Jannick delivered his speech at the flag-presentation ceremony on behalf of Neubeuern Castle. The rest of us were all very proud and felt the strong sense of solidarity within the Neubeuern community, in which our international boarding school also holds its rightful place. The pupils, who took part in the procession between Neu- and Altenbeuern in temperatures of nearly 40 °C, marched confidently in step whilst holding our Neubeuern flag aloft with equal confidence. Although it had turned out a little too small due to time constraints, it shone in its own way through its modesty. For our girls and boys, it was an impressive experience to be surrounded by so much tradition and to feel themselves part of it. This will certainly shape them for the rest of their lives.
Experience tradition
A joint procession into Neubeuern’s market square, a church service with the consecration of the flag, a proud speech by our youth representative Jannick Titz during the handover of the flag, and finally the parade to Altenbeuern and back to the marquee – it was a truly wonderful, traditional and joyful day of celebration.
