Exhilarated & inspired

On Saturday, 2 May, a total of 200 guests enjoyed a cheerful final ball of the 2026 dance course in beautiful spring weather and later even under a full moon.
With the support of “Tanzschule Kesmarki” from Rosenheim, who were experiencing their first dance season with our students, a total of twelve dance couples cut an exceptionally fine figure on our ballroom stage. It was a pleasure to watch them waltz and cha-cha-cha – a long-standing tradition at Schloss Neubeuern that is a favourite highlight for all students every year. After all, just the opportunity to wear a beautiful dress is something special.

The evening began at 6pm with a rhubarb bellini and relaxed music on the south-facing terrace. The impressive wisteria hedge was in full splendour and became a very popular photo backdrop. The marvellous nature in May really is the most beautiful backdrop for a party like this. The evening ball, to which the guests finally made their way into the halls, was also an opportunity to savour this brilliant sight. The view across the twenty-one tables was like looking into a spring forest. Everything was decorated in the colours blue and yellow – the colours of a blue tit – and offered a cheerful, lively overall picture. In keeping with this, chef Robert Hechenbichler once again caused a sensation with his spring menu. For starters, he served a poached egg on a bed of spinach leaves and sorrel. The main course was a vegetarian pearl barley roulade with asparagus tagliatelle, truffle jus and potato snow.

The night of the first waltz

The focus of the evening, however, was the dancers’ programme.
Carina Hammerschmidt and Philip Kesmarki, dance teachers and carnival princes from Rosenheim, enriched the evening with two dance performances. They performed a waltz choreography entitled “The Night of the First Waltz” and a Latin show dance entitled “Swan Lake under the Spell of the Peacock”. These truly enchanting performances created a lively and upbeat atmosphere and provided an attractive backdrop for the subsequent performances by the dance students.
After dessert, the tables were cleared in the ballroom and mentor Magdalena Freer, who also runs the dance course guild, invited the guests to dance together. This provided the perfect transition to the dance disco that followed.
